Are
your feet bothered by a bony bump on the outside of your big toe? If it hurts
like crazy, chances are it’s a bunion. I’m guessing your doctor might recommend
surgery, but I’d prescribe shopping instead. WHAT??? That’s right—shopping. It’s
certainly more fun and less risky, so it’s a great first step. Here’s some things you
need to get:
·
Comfortable
shoes that really fit. Go ahead and have your feet measured in the store. You
might be surprised that “your size” really isn’t. Look for shoes that are wide
enough to slip your foot into easily, preferably with a low or flat heel. And forget about “breaking them in.” If
they’re not comfortable right this minute, walk on by.
·
Snug
socks. It sounds crazy, but the tighter your socks, the less likely they are to
rub your bunion the wrong way. No rubbing equals less pain, and that’s exactly
what you want!
· Toe
separators. Pick them up at the drug store (silicone is best) and place between
the first and second toe to reduce pressure.
·
Epsom
salts. To reduce pain and swelling, add 2 tbsp. to hot water and soak the
afflicted foot for about 15 minutes.
At
the end of the day, rub in quick relief with our pain-taming Arthritis Pain Relief Cream. It can temporarily reduce inflammation and swelling, and improve mobility. Try it RISK FREE for 21 days!
