Have your bowels been acting a bit sluggish lately? For most people, constipation is a minor inconvenience, generally remedied by getting your body in gear and eating a few foods that will naturally get things moving along. Here are a few steps you can take that’ll return you to regularity:

  • Lick it with lemon. Lemon juice is a powerful cleanser and helps jump-start the digestive system. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water—and the mouth is where good digestion begins! Simply add a squeeze of lemon juice to ½ cup of warm water, and sip before every meal.
  • Snack on strawberries. Here’s an old remedy that’s a pleasure to try. Many people believe that eating fresh strawberries will clear up constipation. It makes sense, too, since fruit is a soluble fiber, which does ease the passage of waste through the colon.
  • Jog it loose. Get into the habit of regular exercise. It’s good for lots of things that ail you, including constipation. Exercise helps food travel through your intestines more quickly and reduces stress and anxiety, which cause you to tighten up in more ways than one.
  • Have a triple cocktail. Prunes, bran, and applesauce mixed together will really get things moving. If you want to give it a try, mix four to six chopped prunes with 1 tablespoon of bran and ½ cup of applesauce and eat it just before bed.
You can experience even more soothing relief from constipation with our new Cleansing Colon Formula. The unique combination of fiber, bran, and healing herbs helps trigger your body’s natural ability to detoxify—and you’ll soon be breathing a huge sigh of relief!
