Chill Out with a Summer Smoothie!


If the heat this week is making you feel too lazy to even lift a fork, collapse on your beach chair and sip a whole day’s worth of vitamins A and C right through a straw! As a special bonus, this sensational sipper will help boost your immune system and keep you in the pink of health, too.

Here’s how to whip up a delicious and frosty Cantaloupe Smoothie:

Combine ½ cup of cold fat-free evaporated milk, 3 cups of cold cantaloupe cubes, ¼ teaspoon of vanilla extract, and a dash of ground cinnamon in a blender. Blend until smooth, and pour into a large chilled glass. Then sip, relax, and chill out!

You say you’re not crazy about cantaloupe? Whirl up this Super Banana Shake instead. The potassium in the fruit will put a little extra spring in your step:

In a blender, combine 1 very ripe banana, 1/2 cup of fat-free plain yogurt, ½ cup of fat-free milk, 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract, 1 tablespoon of honey, and 1 tablespoon of wheat germ. Blend on high until creamy and smooth, then pour the shake into a tall glass and dust the top with cinnamon. Then sip and enjoy!
