Yo! Spoon Up Some Yogurt!

The tangy taste of yogurt makes it a perfect snack when you’re in the mood for something light. It’s also perfect for helping you stay healthy. Why? Apart from its load of essential nutrients, yogurt contains beneficial bacteria that not only keep you healthy but also can reverse diseases that have already taken hold. Here are a few reasons that doctors advise eating more yogurt:

·        Vaginitis. Yogurt helps crowd out the bad bugs and restore the acid-alkaline balance (pH) of the vagina.

·        Gas. Live-culture yogurt can reduce gas because it breaks down milk sugars and keeps a balance of healthy bacteria in the digestive tract.

·        Queasiness. To quiet a roiling stomach, try eating ½ cup of plain yogurt to which you’ve added 2 pinches of cardamom and ½ teaspoon of honey.

·        Anemia. Yogurt contains lactic acid, which promotes iron absorption from other foods.

·        Wrinkles. You’d be hard-pressed to find a better facial mask than avocado combined with yogurt.

·        Sunburn. A dab of cold yogurt feels great on scorched skin.

·        Age spots. Mix 1 tablespoon of grated horseradish with ¼ cup of plain yogurt. Keep the mixture refrigerated and dab it on your spots daily until they fade. Follow each application with a smear of vitamin E oil or wheat germ oil.
