My favorite DIY recipe works for both oily and dry skin. The only difference is the type of dried herbs used. For oily skin, raspberry, rosemary, and sage leaves work best. Dry skin will love chamomile or rose. Calendula, comfrey, and lavender work well for both skin types.
Put a handful of your herbs of choice in a 1-pint glass mason jar. Fill the jar to nearly the top with almond or apricot oil. Twist the lid on tight, and stash the jar in a warm place (like near your stove). Every morning, give the jar a vigorous shake. Do this for a couple of weeks, then open the jar and strain out the herbs. Finally, add a few drops of essential oil (your choice), and mix well. You now have a customized massage oil to rub into your skin each day.
