- Use a light foundation that contains an SPF of at least 15, so you don’t have to add a heavy layer of sunscreen underneath your base.
- Dust face powder on your eyelids before applying eye shadow. That way, you’ll avoid colorful clumping in your creases as the day heats up.
- Use waterproof mascara every day—it’s sweat proof, too!
- Avoid waxy eyeliner pencil on the hottest days, because it just won’t stay put. Instead, wet a Q-tip, dip it in dark, powdered shadow, and line your eyes with that instead.
- Give yourself a nice natural glow with powdered bronzer or self-tanning lotion for a safe, sun-kissed look.
- Slick on some lip balm with an SPF of at least 15 before putting on your lipstick.

I love summer, but the humid days and soaring temps are making me feel like I’m melting, and my not-so-heat-proof makeup isn’t helping matters one bit. So I’ve done a little digging to see how I can keep my makeup fresh and bright all day long, no matter how hot it gets. Here’s what I’ve discovered:
