Dazzle Mom with a Darling DIY Gift!

Wondering what to get Mom for Mother’s Day? Try a little DIY this year and fill a basket with homemade potions and soothers. Trust me—it’ll make her day extra special!

Flowery Bath Crystals
Mix up a batch of this beautiful blend to soak Mom’s troubles away.

½ cup of Epsom salts
½ cup of sea salt
½ cup of chamomile, lavender, or rosebuds
¼ cup of baking soda
15 drops of fragrance oil
Food coloring (optional)

Blend the salts, flowers, and baking soda in a blender or food processor. Let the mixture sit for half an hour or so to dry a little, then add the oil and food coloring. Pour the blend into lidded glass jars, and tie a ribbon around the lid. Add a label that tells mom to add a heaping ½ cup of the mixture to her bathwater.

Fabulous Facial Mist
A quick spritz of this cooling picker-upper will hydrate Mom’s skin.

1 black tea bag
2 cups of water
¼ cup of hydrogen peroxide
1 teaspoon of lime extract

Steep the tea bag in 1 cup of just-boiled water for 60 minutes. Let the tea cool to room temperature, then mix ¼ cup of the brew with the hydrogen peroxide, lime extract, and 1 cup of water. Pour the solution into labeled pocket-size spray bottles.

Handy Hand Sanitizer
Treat Mom to this simple—and safe—DIY spray.

¼ cup of vodka
¼ cup of water
20 drops of lavender essential oil
20 drops of tea tree oil

Mix all of the ingredients together, and pour the potion into a labeled 4-ounce spray bottle.

Happy Mother’s Day!
