Avoid Morning-After Miseries

New Year’s Eve is right around the corner. Are you planning to party like there’s no tomorrow? Well go ahead and toast the New Year, but make sure you’re ready to tame the pain before a hangover rears its ugly head. Here’s how to do it:
·        Before you reach for the bubbly, drink a glass of milk or munch on a cheesy snack. Fatty foods delay alcohol absorption.
·        Eat honey on a cracker or a piece of toast before or after drinking. The sugar in the sticky stuff will speed up the metabolism of alcohol.
·        Sip a sports drink for breakfast the morning after. It’s loaded with potassium—a terrific hangover-fighting mineral.
·        Can’t stand the taste of sports drinks? Eat a banana or swig a glass of carrot juice instead. They’re packed with plenty of potassium, too.
·        If your head is throbbing so hard that you can’t even think straight, fill a plastic bag with crushed ice (or grab a bag of frozen peas), and hold it against your head to help shrink the swollen blood vessels and silence the pounding.
Happy New Year!
