Lighten the Load Without Laxatives


Do you ever feel like you just can’t, well…go? If you find yourself going number two less than three times a week, then you can probably call yourself constipated.  And if it has you feeling heavy, blocked up, and increasingly uncomfortable, check with your doctor first, then see if these tips might help:

ü Exercise regularly; it’s good for lots of things that ail you, including irregularity.
ü Make sure you drink 8 to 10 glasses of water a day.
ü Ditch commercial laxatives—regular consumption is self-defeating because they train your bowel to wait for artificial stimulation, rather than responding to natural body signals.
ü Mix 4 to 6 chopped prunes with 1 tablespoon of bran and ½ cup of applesauce, and eat it just before bedtime.
