Sure, they’ll eventually go away on their own. But with one of these DIY hiccup halters, there’s no need to wait.
1.
Lick ‘em
with a little lemon-aid. Stick a lemon wedge under your tongue, suck
it once, hold the juice in your mouth for 10 seconds, and then swallow.
2.
Chew some
bread to stop ‘em dead. Slowly chew a piece of dry toast, and by the
time it’s gone, the hiccups will be history.
3.
Freeze
‘em out. Wrap an ice cube in a paper towel, and rub the frozen chunk up
and down your throat for as long as you can stand it. I’m betting that before
you throw in the towel, your hiccups will.
4.
Just a
spoonful of sugar…Measure a teaspoon of granulated sugar, and pour it slowly onto
your tongue. Then let it dissolve and trickle down your throat to stop the
spasms.
5.
Nuttin’
but. Put a big spoonful of creamy peanut butter in your mouth, and
hold it there for five minutes without chewing. Then swallow the glob. Sounds
crazy and—let’s face it—delicious, but there’s “nut” a better cure!
Take
your pick—I’m guessing that one of these tricks will lick the hics quick.
(Couldn’t resist!)
