Fade the Freckles and Stop the Spots!

I’ve always had freckles on my arms. But when I noticed a few larger, darker ones cropping up on the backs of my hands, I absolutely refused to admit they were “age spots.” I didn’t want to look “old,” and, well, age spots come with age—the only reason we develop them is because we’ve lived long enough to soak up a lot of sun.

Some people develop more of these freckles than others; some get them on their face, chest, or hands. The spots can pop up anywhere your skin has been overexposed to the sun’s destructive rays. Medically, these spots are called solar lentigines. (There, doesn’t that sound better than age spots?)

Most age spots are harmless marks, but always examine them carefully to be sure they’re not skin cancer. If a spot enlarges, changes color or shape, bleeds, itches, or thickens, have your doctor check it out right away. Remember the easy ABCDs of melanoma from the American Cancer Society:

A is for asymmetry: if half the mole or birthmark does not match the other, it could mean trouble.

B is for border: watch for irregular edges that are notched or blurred.

C is for color: Look for spots that are not the same color all over.

D is for diameter: If it’s larger than the head of a pencil eraser or growing, see your doctor.
If age spots, brown splotches, and uneven skin tone are making you look older than you feel, then it’s time to get your hands on our newest beauty breakthrough! So fool the clock and fade the spots with Baker’s Best Age Spot & Skin Brightening Cream. It contains natural antioxidants and extracts that help minimize sun damage and fight off the signs of aging.
